So, Naomi was someone I was hoping would get dragged through a couple of cycles without her number getting discovered so we could have a lulsy late boot of the first girl ever to be eliminated from AusNTM. But, instead, here she is and she has already (justifiably) beaten out one girl who has actually WON so really, what more could she want from us>? There isn't really much to say about Naomi other than I think of her being the first to exit the series as a bit of a travesty. Yeah sure, that squinty little number above definitely screams more "duck face" than "high fashion" but I do not think it was the worst of the bunch NOR do I actually think Naomi was the girl with the lowest amount of model potential. However, it appears that Naomi's real legacy will be forevermore known as the most consistently robbed of all AusNTM girls because here is she again, gone too soon. :'(
Oh, wait, since I could probably use a little bit of filler material here to make this look like a legitimate write-up, can we please talk about how poorly AusNTM Cycle 1 has aged? Like wow, we had some tacky, tacky, tacky production values and the girls obviously weren't coached in their confessionals because I dare you to try to keep your eyes fully open and remain focussed on an entire episode of that shit in one sitting. Seriously, I remembered it fondly but going back to watch a couple of episodes/key moments in preparation for this just made me realise how far the series has come even from the production aspect alone. Say what you want about Cycle 8's cray-cray OTT gloss and "social media" focus, the show now looks damned polished in comparison and the later cycles are bound to age a lot better than the older ones which bodes well for syndication.
Something else that hasn't gotten better with time? That duck-faced photo Naomi turnt out in Cycle 1, Episode 1 so she gots to go.
In honour of Naomi's accomplishment in this Rankdown (managing to not get cut first this time), I present, the only other picture of her I could find... She was obviously another girl who found development OUTSIDE of the competition a little more manageable..
