"But trojan," I hear you say, "Alamela was the
victim. How is you can cut
the victim before any of her tormentors even make an appearance?" Yes, it is true that Alamela was subjected to some pretty insidious behaviour by the Bitchketeers/Dapto Dogs and I certainly do not condone any of these actions (although, one of the three girls in the Bitchketeers would go on to
win the competition, a second would be linked romantically to Leonardo DiCaprio for a short time and the third is now dating surfer Taj Burrow which is... less impressive. But hey, RJ was a girl from the 'Gong so really, anything is up from there), but I also cannot condone keeping Alamela for one pretty major reason:
I found her teeth grindingly, ear-bashingly annoying and pretty much
impossible to like each and every time she was on screen. Seriously, this girl had a knack for making you uncomfortable as a viewer in any & every way possible, her modelling was sub-par at the very best and the nasal tone of her voice make me instinctively reach for a sharp object to stab into my ears every time her head popped up on screen with her eyes managing to both stare intently at you but also seem to be looking far off into the distance, it was utterly creepy and completely irritating at the same time.
She exists in this weird limbo of not being conventionally pretty enough for commercial work and, yet, somehow also not quite weird enough looking to be truly high fashion... At least, not at the time she was a participant in AusNTM because, the true tragedy of the Alamela Rowan story, is that, had she just waited a couple of years and gotten some experience under her belt we might have seen her in Cycle 7 or 8 turning out some amazing work like her print work portfolio now contains:
But, unfortunately, Alamela showed up during the "ugly duckling" portion of her journey into swan and, when put up against the commercial potential that was Ms Sally Greach of Cycle 6, I'm sorry to say that Alamela just. Does. Not. Have. It.
Cycle 4 was just as harrowing an experience for viewers as it appeared to be for participants as I'm sure future subsequent posts will soon make all the more clear..
That means SALLY GREACH, you will move on to Cycle 2 and continue on in the hopes of becoming RFG's AusNTM Rankdown winner!Numbers Chosen:
