Before PDC jumps in and says anything first - yes, I DO hate the new judging gif but I didn't have the patience to fix it.. Not tonight. It's really hot and I didn't have a nap, so.... yeah.


Moving right along and GOOD JOB BOOTY MCFIRSTYSON - Laura managed to float past the midway point of the rankdown despite not only being a cycle's first boot, but also by being one of THE most irrelevant contestants ever in the history of the show. Well, actually, that may be just a tad harsh, but not by much.

Laura's Top Model experience can be summed up in very few words: RUNWAY - GOOD, EVERYTHING ELSE - BAD.

Her one and only photoshoot in the show was the "lie on the concrete/rock by the water and pretend you're in a cheap version of Kylie Minogue's videoclip for 'Slow' photoshoot". Laura buckled under the pressure of lying down and looking at a camera and completely assed-up with this stellar impersonation of someone trying to look directly at the sun without damaging their eyes:




Aaaaaaand that was all the judges needed to see thanks very much.

Post AusNTM, I'm not 100% sure I'm on board with Laura's extended career. I mean, there's definitely potential to be mined but I can't help but feel like the colour of her eyes and her miniature pupils kinda make her look like a heroin addict in every shot also:




So - I mean, good for her. If this were a quantified ranking she'd be in my bottom 20 girls for sure but, hey, you can't hate tha playa....

So, Cycle 6 is off and running! There aren't many randos remaining in the deck so will PDC finally have to make some tough choices and eliminate girls she likes herself? Are there any double eliminations coming? Let's find out by getting some more nominations happening people!!

Okay so Chantal is one of those girls that against a LOT of people I would save just because I remember her and remember her fondly. No further investigation needed. But unfortunately for Chantal, Queen Alice falls to no bitch in cycle 6. Looking back over her time on the show, and even her post-show career I have learned a few things about Chantal that I didn't know, or more likely didn't remember until now.

The first is that she is a girl from Bankstown. Looking at her and hearing Bankstown - something clicks. You just get it. Chantal is a Bankstown girl and where I grew up and went to high school, I knew a LOT of Bankstown girls - and I wouldn't be shocked at all if a lot of my love for her came from some kind of geographical pride. Truth is - the same goes for a couple of people - anyone who tells you they love Jordan from cycle 3 and don't use her as a reason why Sydney is either a) not from Sydney or b) not a lover of Jordan. Chantal was kind of like that - I always root for the girls I could know IRL like that.

The second thing is that Chantal was super average on the show. All of her photos were kind of awkward or not-quite-right. Take her elimination shot as a good example of what I mean:




Pretty much all of her photos were like this and it was only by the luck of other girls being even more shit that got her through. Probably the saddest thing about her elimination is that she was in the Bottom 2 that week with KIMBERLY THRUPP - yes the same one that Trojan viciously destroyed. And Kimberly beat her in that Bottom 2 elimination (only to get booted the following week). Poor Chantal

She's had a pretty decent career since then - it's been 4 years since she was a contestant on the show and she's still working When she left she said she wanted to pursue modelling and she has. You Go Girl! She has appeared during Fashion Week (in Aus) every year since from what I can gather, and has a pretty good go of it on the runway, and in front of the camera as well I suppose - though she does suffer camera aging.

The girl looks like Cheryl Cole - but here she was 23, and Cheryl Cole is 31. Not that Cheryl Cole is "old" but a model doesn't want to look 31 at that age.
