One of the most unique aspects of Australian culture is the "Sheila". The sheila is a girl, but fits in more with the boys than she does other girls. The sheila has an atypically masculine job (in this case, forklift driver), socialises primarily with boys, revels in identifying more as "one of the boys" than they do being a "girly girl" and is prone to outrageous behaviour as an attention seeking device. A sheila is, basically, a female bogan with tomboy tendencies.

So, how does being a sheila translate to being a model?


Poorly.


Cycle 2 kicked off with one of, if not the most outrageous episodes in AusNTM history. You probably remember me mentioning it waaaaaay back in the Hiranthi (robbed) write-up as "the one where Hiranthi gets her eyebrow shaved" but it could just as easily have been named "the one where Sophie makes out with Madeline in the hot tub".

Unfortunately for Sophie, the hot tub incident would turn out to be the high point of her relevancy in the competition as she was given the early boot in episode 2 when the judges lost faith in her for seemingly "not being sure what to do with her body" in photoshoots. From the looks of her most recent gigs, it would appear she has since figured that shit OUT!



So... yeah. Say goodbye to another girl who had a fairly loose interpretation of "modelling".

Also - yay at getting to put Ms Shannon through another round! You're almost there!

This one needed to come up. I am still deeply regretting my cut of Simone over Joanna the last time she was up and I am not making the same mistake this time. Simone baby I miss you Further, Laura is one of the only Asian contestants ever on the show (and the only one who has the (South) Eastern Asian appearance) and no rando bitch is gonna take her out. Especially not someone I wish I'd cut like 30-40 cuts ago.

I ended up saving her last time because she's had more of an established career than Simone, but in hindsight, she's had an extra year and her career is predominantly in music, not modelling. God I have SO MUCH REGRET.







Joanna's journey in Cycle 6 was essentially this: middle, top, top, first call-out, top, top, top, OUT. Like... what lol. She was pretty clearly one of those girls who has a good run but didn't get the winner edit and you knew she wasn't winning a mile off. But at the same time, she's that girl who ws in the Bottom 2 with someone who lot of people might argue should've gone instead. Kelsey ended up coming 2nd to Amanda after a major oopsie at the Finale, but she had a lot of problems that have continued to plague her post-show - such as her height - but that's a discussion for her own write-up. I would've preferred Joanna to make the Top 5 over Kelsey but Joanna wasn't exactly the queen bee herself

whatever. Bye Joanna. Glad you're GONE now. Simone will forgive me one day and we will be happy and together forever from that point.

You'll really have to excuse my language here guys, bue Eloise was a bit of a cunt bitch. She was also the first of many girls to have her ass well and truly handed to her on a serving platter by the original Boganista, Cassi after she and Tahnee (the eventual winner) decided to DARE attack Cassi's friend Mikarla in a passive aggressive fashion by putting McDonalds containers full of cigarette butts on her bed (Mikarla was, fairly, criticised for being a chain smoker by judges and the other girls and for her poor diet so the implications were not subtle).

Cassi's response would be to tip the cigarette butts all through Eloise's bed. Cassi correctly identified Eloise as the weaker of the Eloise/Tahnee duo and set about taking out her prey.


Both Mikarla AND Eloise were eliminated that episode so lol. Sucked in Eloise and your hot, fit, athletic body still only lasting as long as the chain-smoking, junk food eating girl who was always on the verge of mental breakdown. Suck that down!

As a model, Eloise is like SUPER BORING to look at - she never, ever manages to change her look or create anything of interest other than "rich, pretty, private school girl."

Yawn, yawn, fucking yawn. There is ZERO difference between any of her images, indicating she lacks versatility but also her look is not commercial enough to have broad appeal so she is pretty much just another one of those girls who can take pretty photos but doesn't understand that this does not make you a model!

So yeah, another short 'n' sweet entry but probably best not to get used to these now that we're starting to get down to the big guns!

Also - MASSIVE SMH at PDC for calling one of the Stephs from Cycle 3 a rando. Hush your mouth!
