Because you're comparing the images of last season, who were the main avatars, and made in photoshop, with the screenshots of the videoavatars I use in case people's browsers don't support video avatars. That's like...not even 1/4th of the cast. If it's a video, cropping is a lot harder, like...A LOT. And less precise if the contrast is bad. It especially visible if you stop the video. The quality if you screenshot it is not gonna be as good as a picture because it's video, ever tried pausing a youtube video and comparing that quality to a picture? Yeah.

It works if it's moving, not so much if it's standing still. It's still early experimenting with this type of avatar, and I might have some ideas to fix these problems, but we'll see.
